All faculty and staff at Miles Community College serve as Campus Security Authorities. This includes Resident Advisors in the residence halls. CSAs are required to report certain crimes and to know reporting responsibilities so that the College can provide support to campus victims of crimes. CSAs are responsible for reporting allegations of Clery Act crimes that are reported to them. Crimes include murder/non-negligent manslaughter, manslaughter by negligence, rape, fondling, incest, statutory rape, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, motor vehicle theft, arson, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking. Additional items required to be reported include arrests and disciplinary referrals for weapons possession, drug abuse violations, liquor law violations, and hate crimes. While attention is given to provide privacy to the reporting party, confidentiality for these reports cannot be given. CSAs must report via online reporting mechanisms within 48 hours of receiving information of such crime. These reports are managed by the Dean of Student Engagement and the Dean of Administrative Services and Human Resources. Faculty and staff have access to this training on the Faculty/Staff pages and may submit reports via the form found on the secured forms section of the website.
