Nursing Application Process

  1. Apply to Miles Community College as a Pre-Nursing student. Students need to follow directives for submitting transcripts & registering for SOAR.

  1. Meet with Nursing Program Director for advising. There are a student must complete prior to applying for the Nursing Program

  1. Watch for October/April dates for the Kaplan Entrance Exam to be announced. Registration link will be active 3-4 weeks prior to exam dates.

    To register:

    Visit the Kaplan Nursing Entrance Exam Online Payment page to select your test date and time, and pay the $20 exam fee. (The exam fee may also be paid in person at the MCC Business Office.)

  1. Pre-reqs are completed with grades earned of B- or above and Kaplan entrance test completed, scoring 70% or greater.

    High school seniors:
    Click here to apply to the Student Success Pathway Program.

    Student’s complete Nursing Program application is due to the MCC Nursing Office by June 1.
  1. MCC Registrar will compute the selective GPA of all program applicants. The Nursing staff review all applications for eligibility and contact applicants to set up an interview. Once interviews are complete, applications will be reviewed and placed in rank order based upon a point system.

  1. All students will receive a notification letter of acceptance or denial. If you have been accepted into the program, your letter will contain important dates that will require you to be on campus including freshman orientation in July. Students will receive further information on drug testing as well as reminders for completion of the two-step TB test that MUST be completed prior to the start of classes.
