Students who struggle to understand classroom information or to complete routine assignments may need the assistance of a tutor. With the individualized assistance that tutoring offers, students can master academic material at their own pace. Peer tutors are available for most courses offered and are chosen for their academic ability and desire to help others. Tutoring is available at no charge to MCC students, and students can receive two hours of tutoring per subject per week.
If you are in need of tutoring, please fill out a Tutor Request Form and return it to room 208.
Students who are interested in becoming a peer tutor should fill out a Tutor Application Form and return it to the Learning Center or call 406.874.6152.
Please note that the Learning Center is unable to provide tutoring for individuals who are NOT Miles Community College students.
To gain a better understanding of yourself as a learner, you need to evaluate the way you prefer to learn or process information. By doing so, you will be able to develop strategies which will enhance your learning potential. Many tutors require that you complete a learning styles inventory before your first meeting. You can access the Learning Styles Inventory here.
