MILES CITY, MONTANA: For most of her life, Carrie Preller has called Miles City home. She moved here with her family in seventh grade and never looked back.
For the past nine years, Carrie has served as the Human Resources Coordinator at Miles Community College (MCC), a role she loves for its variety.
“Each day brings new tasks and challenges,” she says.
Most days, you’ll find her in the human resources/business office working on her computer, but just as often, she’s out and about, visiting coworkers across campus. She works closely with nearly every department, employee, and even students, making her an essential part of MCC’s daily operations.
“My favorite part of MCC is working with such wonderful, caring people,” Carrie shares.
One of her proudest accomplishments has been streamlining payroll reports, making them easier and more efficient. She takes pride in her work but also values life’s simple joys—baking, making candies, and, above all, spending time with family. If she weren’t at MCC, she imagines herself at home, cherishing time with her loved ones and traveling to visit her children.
Describing herself as hardworking, caring, diligent, honest, and thoughtful, Carrie believes in making the most of every day.
“Do your very best in each day,” she advises.
And when asked about a lifelong adventure she still hopes to take? She simply smiles and says, “I have had the opportunity to do many of the things I’ve wanted in my lifetime.”
A life well-lived, indeed.
