MILES CITY, MONTANA: Jenna Bolstad and the Pioneer Women’s Basketball team wrapped up their 2023-20224 season just last week, during her second year of coaching at Miles Community College.
Jenna grew up in Homestead, Montana, near the town of Culbertson. Like many of her MCC coworkers, Jenna found herself working as a hired hand on the family farm as her first job.
As head coach, Jenna’s days consist of skills exercises, team practices, creating social media content, and always looking for potential new Pioneer student-athletes to sign onto the team.
She also makes rounds around campus, keeping up to date on events and activities for staff, faculty, and students.
“My favorite part of working at MCC is the people and how friendly everyone is,” Jenna stated.
Her biggest accomplishment stems from her days as a student-athlete at Miles Community College. Jenna was part of the Pioneer Women’s Basketball team from 2006 to 2008 and is being inducted into the Miles Community College Athletic Hall of Fame along with the rest of her teammates for their 2007-08 season, where they went 31-2.
She describes herself as energetic, passionate, hard-working, trustworthy, and disciplined, all traits needed to coach successfully. If she wasn’t currently coaching at the MCC, Jenna would find herself running her own skills training facility.
Outside of work, Jenna enjoys working out, reading, and spending time at the lake.
“Do your best every day to get a little better,” Jenna says. “Even if it’s just 1%.”
