MILES CITY, MONTANA: Hailing from Sisterdale, Texas, Kim Gibbs has always been heavily involved in agriculture, landing her first job as secretary for Kendall County Farm Bureau.
Kim now works as an Ag Instructor at Miles Community College, where she has been employed for the last 13 years.
“I teach the future leaders in agriculture,” she says when asked what her typical workday looks like. “My favorite part of MCC is working with the students.”
Her favorite course to teach is Montana Range plants, where she has students step out of their comfort zone and get hands on with Montana agriculture. Her greatest accomplishment in her career has been watching the MCC Ag Program grow and change in her 13 years at the college.
Kim describes herself as structured, dependable, and dedicated.
Outside of work, she loves to garden, grow flowers, and bake and can see herself selling her goodies and wares if not employed at MCC. She would also love to travel to South America or Hawaii someday.
When asked to share her favorite piece of advice, Kim says “Opportunity knocks, who will answer? Take advantage of all opportunities that come your way!”
