In conjunction with workforce development, Miles Community College is hosting its annual Teacher’s Institute classes.
The Teacher’s Institute will offer professional development courses in July with both credit and OPI renewal units available.
On July 8 and 9, Kim Smith will be teaching the Deconstructing Distance Learning course. Class members will be sharing unique experiences with distance learning and the struggles and successes that occurred during the coronavirus pandemic. Information on resources, tolls, and strategies will be available for lesson delivery and online collaboration.
On July 23 and 24, Christine Williams will teach a Management of Aggressive Behaviors (MOAB) to teach participants basic strategies of identifying aggressive behaviors and avoiding physical harm and hands-on strategies for controlling and restraining aggressive behaviors.
Social distancing measures will be in place during these courses. MCC continues to monitor the coronavirus situation and more information will be available as further directives are in place, in the event the classes can no longer be held safely and responsibly.
