Miles Community College has been named a CHS Foundation University Partner by the CHS Foundation. As a University Partner, CHS will give MCC $10,000 in scholarship money that will be given out to deserving students. The mission of the CHS Foundation scholarship program is to provide financial assistance to undergraduate students who are pursuing agriculture-related degrees. MCC Agriculture Instructor Kim Gibbs is thrilled about this new opportunity for students, “Having the partnership with CHS will provide scholarships to MCC Ag students. With the ability to give out eight $1,000 scholarships, we will be able to help the future of agriculture pursue their college goals. Partnerships like this is what helps the future of agriculture in Montana and the United States.”
The criteria to receive the scholarship include:
Four freshman and four sophomore students will be selected as scholarship recipients and given a $1,000 scholarship. The remaining $2,000 will be given to the MCC Young Farmers and Ranchers Club.
Interested individuals should fill out the MCC scholarship application located on the website at www.milescc.edu. Though the MCC scholarship deadline has already passed, applications for this scholarship will be accepted through March 15, 2019.
Justin McPherson, a Regional Sales Manager for CHS commented, “The Montana State University System is the first in Montana to fall in line with the liaison. MSU is also a partner, and it just worked for us to come into MCC because I live in Miles City and I attended Miles Community College a few years back.” Miles Community College and Montana State University are the only University Partners in Montana.
