Athletic Hall of Fame Banquet

MCC 2019 Athletic Hall of Fame Banquet

Miles Community College will be holding the first ever First Interstate MCC Athletic Hall of Fame induction ceremony on Saturday, November 16.

Events during the day will begin with MCC home basketball games with Women’s Pioneer Basketball at 1:00 pm and Men’s Pioneer Basketball at 3:00 pm. Social hour for the Hall of Fame Banquet will follow at 6:00 p.m. in rooms 316 and 317 on the MCC Campus. Dinner and Hall of Fame inductions will begin at 7:00 p.m.

Tickets are $30.00 per person and can be purchased from Athletic Director Jerry Olson at 580-206-0184 or on the MCC Campus. Tickets must be purchased by November 11.

The Hall of Fame class includes former coaches Rob Bishop and Dennis Lordemann. Bishop started the MCC Baseball program from scratch in 2001 and was head coach until 2010. He guided the Pioneers to the NJCAA Division II World Series and had four 40-win seasons during his ten year career at MCC. Lordemann coached the MCC Women’s Basketball team from 1983-2002. During his time, he was able to guide the program to three consecutive NJCAA National Tournaments.

Athletes entering this inaugural Hall of Fame are Nikeisha Riley (formerly Nikeisha Jack) and Scott McDonald. Riley was a member of the MCC Women’s Basketball team from 2000 to 2002, where she was the all-time leading scorer until 2019. She is now currently second with 940 career points. McDonald holds several men’s basketball records at MCC, including all-time leading men’s scorer, with 1,283 points from 1970-1972, and all-time leading rebounds in a season with 501.

The first team to be inducted into the Hall of Fame is the 1987-1988 MCC Women’s Basketball team.

Miles Community College would like to invite the community to come out and support the recognition of these remarkable athletes and coaches.
