MCC Rodeo Team

PIONEERS OPEN SPRING SEASON IN BOZEMAN

MCC Rodeo

The Miles Community College rodeo team looks to rebound after not competing how they would have liked in the fall. The men's team finished 8th and the women's team finished 7th in the Big Sky Region.

Faith Tarter led the way for the women, finishing 14th in the conference in goat tying. Tarter will be returning for the spring season. Also returning is Bailey Nielson who led the team in points in breakaway roping. Lexi Shipp will also be back and should show her strength in the team roping.

On the men's side, Tristan Hooper led the way with a 14th place conference finish in team roping. Hooper, along with Wyatt Folger will return in the spring. The team roping pair are capable of finishing high in the conference standings. Nate Howell will also be a threat for MCC in the team roping.

"We are ready to get going, it was a long winter. The team is looking forward to getting out of the snow," said head coach Wally Badgett. "We have a talented group of student-athletes and several prospects for the CNFR if everything goes right.”

The Pioneers look to open their competition this spring at Montana State University in Bozeman, MT, April 12-15. The Pioneer’s home rodeo will be held at the Ag Advancement Center April 20-22. The College National Finals Rodeo will be held in Casper, WY June 10-16, 2018.
