HELENA, Mont. – The Montana Small Business Development Center (SBDC) program at the Montana Department of Commerce is partnering with Miles Community College to host a new SBDC location to grow economic development in Southeastern Montana. “Together SBDC and Miles Community College will provide access to business development resources, supporting the entire region and strengthening the economy,” said SBDC State Director Chad Moore.
The Regional SBDC center hosted by the college will serve Carter, Custer, Dawson, Fallon, Powder River, Prairie, Rosebud, Treasure, and Wibaux counties from its centralized location in Miles City. Entrepreneurs in southeastern Montana will have new resources available to them thanks to Miles Community College, including the school’s educational opportunities and strategic plan to develop the region’s workforce.
"Benefits of our partnership include having a valuable small business developer in Miles City, expertise on our campus, new and revitalized small business training, a strong connection with Miles City Area Economic Development Council and Southeastern Montana Development Corporation, and more visibility of the college’s offerings,” Miles Community College President Stacy Klippenstein said.
SBDCs are funded in-part through a Cooperative Agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration, the Montana Department of Commerce, and regional hosts in economic development and higher education. Miles Community College is Montana’s tenth SBDC to provide tools and guidance for small business success.
