Donald Hartman

Donald J Hartman, President


Donald has been married to his wife, Melissa, for forty-nine years and has three children; John, Mary Pat, and Jennifer. He has ten grandchildren and one great grandson. Don attended one year at Miles Community College and went on to become a Certified Public Accountant since 1975.

Sheryl Cathey

Sheryl Cathey, Vice President


Sheryl graduated from Custer County District High School. While married and with children at home, she attended Missoula Vocational Technology Center where she received her Associated of Applied Science Degree in Office Administration. She also has a Certificate in Bookkeeping.

Jeff Johnstone

Jeff Johnstone, Treasurer


Jeff Johnstone was born and raised in Ekalaka, MT. He graduated from Montana State University-Billings with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration-Accounting and is a Certified Public Accountant. Jeff began his accounting career in public accounting with KPMG LLP before moving into the banking industry in 2003 with Stockman Bank in Miles City, where he is currently the Chief Accounting Officer. He and his wife, Brenda, have three adult children, one of whom was a Miles Community College athlete and graduate.

Ted Stein

Ted Stein, Secretary


Ted Stein was born in Glasgow, but raised down in Florida graduating from St. Cloud High School. After high school, he moved back to Montana and attended Miles Community College graduating with an Associate of Arts degree. After MCC, he attended several different universities before graduating from the University of Nebraska at Kearney with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Administration and a minor in Business Administration. Immediately following UNK, he completed his Master of Science degree online through American Public University. Since then, Ted ran the Centra Athletic Center at MCC for five years before moving on to become the Sales Center Manager for the Coca-Cola Bottling Company High Country in Miles City. During his time with Coke, he helped renew the current exclusivity contract including the purchase of the scoreboard at Mid-Rivers Field for the softball program. He now serves as the accounts payable supervisor for Stockman Bank. Ted has one daughter.

Garret McFarland

Garret McFarland


Dr. McFarland was elected to the Board of Trustees in 2005. He has been a dentist in Miles City for 17 years. After growing up in Fort Benton, MT, he received his bachelor's degree from Carroll College and received his DDS from the University of Minnesota Dental School.

Joseph Bennett

Joseph Bennett


Joe Bennett was born in Nashville Tennessee in 1941. He graduated from East Nashville High School in 1959 and the College at Tennessee Tech with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He served 8 years in United States Marine Corps, Naval Aviator, KC 130 pilot and served 26 months in Vietnam, retiring as a Captain. He was an International airline pilot for Pan American Airlines for 25 years, retiring in 1991 as a Captain. He was also an international airline pilot with Delta Airlines for 10 years retiring as a Captain in 2001. Joe is currently a rancher in the Hathaway, MT area. He and his wife, Mary Lynne, celebrated their anniversary of 53 years in 2019. Joe has two children, daughter Corinne Bennett and son Bryon Bennett, and three grandchildren.

Debbie Morford

Debbie Morford


Ms. Morford was elected to the Board of Trustees in 2013. Debbie recently retired after working as the Manager of the Miles City Field Office with the Bureau of Land Management with responsibility for overseeing public lands and resources in 17 counties in eastern Montana. Debbie received her Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from Colorado State University.

Krista Stubbefield

Krista Stubblefield


Krista Stubblefield graduated from Custer County District High School, in Miles City. Krista went to college at Miles Community College for one year after graduating high school, then went on to Montana State University – Bozeman where she studied Statistics, Mathematics and Computer Science. In 1999, Krista moved back to Miles City and started working for First Interstate Bank, where she is currently the Retail Manager. She and her husband, Richard, have two adult children, one of whom went to Miles Community College for a year, then went on to Motorcycle Mechanic Institute in Orlando, Florida.

Brandi Gibson

Brandi Gibson


Brandi Gibson was born and raised in Jordan, MT. After attending Miles Community College for two years, she transferred to Carroll College in Helena, receiving Batchelor’s or Arts degrees in Public Relations and Communication Studies. Brandi went on to work for maurices for 20 years before moving into the grocery industry where she currently works as a Marketing Officer for Reynolds Market.

Benjamin Uhlich

Benjamin Uhlich


Benjamin Uhlich was born and raised in Tioga ND. He served in the US Army following high school and is a combat Veteran of Iraq in 2003-2004. Benjamin received his BSN in Nursing and MBA in Health Care Administration working for the VA Health Care System for 20years before retiring from federal service and relocating to Miles City and becoming the CNO at Holy Rosary Hospital. Benjamin has since become the President/CNO at Holy Rosary. Benjamin enjoys his free time with his wife and two sons, enjoying anything outdoors and sports related.
