LEGACY OF SERVICE:
Joy was born in Dayton, Ohio, and moved to Montana with her mother and five siblings in 1976. She has called Miles City home ever since. Joy began working as a Ward Clerk at Holy Rosary Healthcare and continued to work there while attending school.

Joy graduated from Miles Community College in 1982 with an Associate of Applied Science in Nursing Degree. After graduation, Joy started working in the RN float pool at Holy Rosary Healthcare and eventually took a full-time position in the Emergency Department. She spent most of her nursing career in the ER and was Nurse Manager for much of that time. She then decided to further her education and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota, in 1991. With the encouragement of family and friends, Joy fulfilled her dream of being a Nurse Practitioner, graduating from Gonzaga University in 2001 with a Master of Science in Nursing and becoming a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner.

She continues to work at Holy Rosary Healthcare Clinic as a family practice provider. She was instrumental in getting a Certified Diabetes Program at HRHC, and in starting the Commit to be Fit Program. She was a board member for the Custer Network Against Domestic Abuse and Sexual Assault (CNADA) and also a board member for the Pregnancy Outreach Clinic of Miles City. She served as a committee member for a student in the Doctorate of Nurse Practitioner Program at MSUB in Billings, Montana. Joy is also an active member of Grace Bible Church in Miles City.

Joy is married to her husband Rick, and they have two sons, Travis and Joshua. Rick attended Miles Community College, and both sons are also graduates of MCC. Both of her daughters-in-law graduated from the MCC Nursing Program. Joy loves to spend time with her children and grandchildren, and they enjoy snowmobiling as a family. She also likes cooking and baking, gardening, and having coffee with friends.
