| MCC Main Event "Night of
Knowledge" |
| On Saturday
October 23, 2009, Miles Community College Endowment hosted their
inaugural MCC Main Event “Night of Knowledge.” The evening
showcased the many talents of students and alumni of Miles
Community College. Art work was displayed by MCC alumni
including: Tucker Bolton, Keely Perkins, Kate Ruland, and Donna
Faber. There was a brief presentation that focused on the
reasons to raise funds for student scholarships followed by a
student filled variety show and testimonials. The variety show
featured the singing talents of Chantelle Henneberry accompanied
by Kim Henneberry on piano, Meagan Jacobsen, KT Henneberry, and
Alicia Florese accompanied by Adsem Merwin on guitar. The show
also exhibited the belly dancing talents of Kira Niece, the
evolution of dance by Joseph Murnin and yodeling by Tab Flemming
Jr. The emcees for the variety show were Miles Community College
Presidential Scholar, Krissy Murnin and Student Senate
President, Joseph Munrin. Dr Stefani Hicswa gave an update of
the accomplishments of MCC faculty, staff and students in the
last year and reminded those attending why it is so important to
fund scholarships at the local community college. Don Hartman
thanked the evening sponsors while reminiscing about his days as
an MCC student. The evening sponsors were: McFarland Family
Dentistry, East-Mont Auto Supply, First Interstate Bank,
Stockman Bank, Shirley & Harold Gierke, Notbohm Motors, Regan
Plumbing & Heating, Stevenson Design, and US Bank. The night
ended with the prize drawings for a women’s prize package which
included a chocolate diamond necklace from Jewelry by Monte and
a men’s prize package which included a grill from Steadman Ace
Hardware. The evening was a great sensation and was successful
in it’s goal of raising funds for the Miles Community College
Endowment Scholarship Funds. |
