Pre-Engineering at MCC
A.S. Pre-Engineering Emphasis
The purpose of this program is to prepare students for an engineering or engineering technology curriculum. The two-semester calculus (MA 221 and MA 222) sequence satisfies the first-year calculus requirement for engineers. The physics sequence (SC 231 and SC 232) is algebra based rather than calculus based. This sequence prepares students for the calculus-based physics sequence that is required for engineers. College algebra and pre-calculus are available for students preparing to take calculus.

Students should consult the catalog of the institution to which they expect to transfer and should select appropriate courses in consultation with their advisor.

The program course requirements are presented in sequence. Part-time students and others who cannot follow this sequence should check course descriptions in this Catalog to determine prerequisites and, in addition, should consult their academic advisor regarding the order in which they take courses.
