Radiological Technology at MCC
A.A.S. Radiologic Technology Allied Health Homepage

Miles Community College has collaborated with Montana Tech College of Technology in Butte to offer courses for students wishing to pursue an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Radiologic Technology. This program allows students to take courses in Miles City with web-based Radiologic Technology courses offered through Montana Tech College of Technology and face-to-face portions of the courses held at Miles Community College. Students interested in pursuing this degree must contact the Radiologic Technology Academic Advisor at Miles Community College for formal application into the Radiologic Technology Program and to assure proper course sequencing.

Students entering with the intent to become a radiology technologist are accepted into the program through a formal selection process and will graduate from Montana Tech College of Technology. Students completing the two-year A.A.S. degree must sit for a national certification test before they may enter the workforce.

Students planning to study radiologic technology need a strong educational health core and must be competent in computer skills. The plan of study includes 18 credits for the first fall semester. These credits are the basis for selecting students into the program. The minimum selective GPA for consideration into the Radiologic Technology Program is 2.75. Other selection criteria include computer proficiency demonstrated by completion of IT 120 Introduction to Computers, a successful challenge of the course, or a similar course approved by academic advisor.

A limited number of students are admitted spring semester of each year. If the number of qualified applicants exceeds the available space, not all qualified applicants will be accepted. Since the competitive selection is based on GPA, students with higher GPAs are most likely to be accepted.
