Today's Fuels for Tomorrow's Growth is a
biofuels project, focused primarily on the production of
feedstock for biodiesel and biodiesel production. This project
is funded through the MAP-WIRED grant through the Office of the
Commissioner of Higher Education.
This project is designed to help promote the opportunities for
economic growth in Central and Eastern Montana through value
added agriculture, particularly biofuels.
Objectives
Provide educational demonstrations on oilseed processing
and biodiesel production to interested parties of all ages.
Develop curriculum to prepare students for emerging
careers in biofuel fields.
Provide entrepreneurship training through distance
education to prepare individuals to participate in the
industry.
The purpose of Montana's Agro-energy Plan is
develop a globally competitive bio-energy and bio-product
cluster in Central and Eastern Montana. This region is rich in
natural resources; however, has historically been economically
strained. The plan is funded through the WIRED grant (Workforce
Innovation in Regional Economic Development).
